Autumn term 1

We are so happy to be back at school together and learning with our friends.

This half term we have been busy exploring our theme, ‘Paint a Rainbow’ and have enjoyed sharing the story of Elmer as part of this work.

We have learnt how to mix primary colours to make secondary colours, and explored this through different mediums such as playdough, paint and coloured water. We have explored the work of different artists and have made different versions of Matisse’s snail including printed versions and ones on a digital painting app.

In maths we have consolidated our knowledge of the numbers 1-20 and have started work on simple addition.

As part of our PSHE lessons we have discussed what makes us different, what makes us the same and how we are all special. We have painted our own self portraits, carefully looking at our own facial features.

We have also learnt the traditional tale, The Little Red Hen, and are looking forward to making our own bread to eat.
